Canyon at Stanford

Today we went to Stanford to the track meet to see Nana and Papa. People often think that Canyon’s not a big talker. It could be because he doesn’t talk much unless he’s real comfortable with you, it could be that he has two other sisters who talk a lot for him and a baby sister that will someday, or he just doesn’t like to waste words, but once he starts talking…I’m telling you—you can’t get him to shut-up. So here’s a running paragraph that he just couldn’t stop saying over, and over and over again. You see, the way Canyon works, is if he had a great time…the next weeks to months of his life (often until the next moment of interest), is spend in wishing that tomorrow we could do exactly the same thing—without the bother of eating or sleeping of course. Besides deciding that track is not for him because, “mommy, I like to run real slow,” we went to The Cheesecake Factory for lunch and then happened to walk into a toy store that we were parked next to. Well, the rest is history. After picking out a shovel to dig buried treasure with, and spending the rest of the day digging a trap for the chickens in the sand box…he couldn’t stop reliving the day—by doing it again tomorrow:

“We can go in there tomorrow, after the running game, we’re going to go into the toy store and we’re going to get some toys, Mommy, you know what kind of toys we’re going to get…a pirate ship with an anchor.
I’m talking to you about the toy store with the pirate ship in it and a pirate box and with a new anchor.
Mommy, I brought my shovel downstairs and put it under my bed so in the morning, you know what we’re going to do? We’re going to go to the toy store by the running game and we’re going to pick the pirate ship, it’s still in a box and we can bring it home and we can open the box and you know what we need to open the box?
I want to talk to you about we can get something else there. We can get legos, too and mommy, we can buy them…you got to buy them with the guy—he buys a lot of toys at the toy store.”

Climbing at the Park

I like climbing. I want to go there and do it again. I like climbing outside, it reminds me of climbing with papa in Logan, but that was inside.

I climb to the top and my sister can too.
"But not me," says Kate.

Beautiful weather days ahead

Here is Kate enjoying the great weather in St. George. If you are wondering what Kate is wearing on her head in the top picture...it is a helmet, upside down and backwards. I saw her riding by like that and had to get the camera. Cute!

Our favorite T.V. shows

I am posting a T.V. archive on my blog and I was trying to remember what T.V. shows we watched when we were younger. I know Little House on the Prairie, The Cosby Show, Full House, then Seinfeld, etc. Do any others come to mind? Oh ya, Simpsons.

(By the way: you can click on some of the T.V. shows for a link)

Welcome

Shayne and I thought it would be fun to start a Reeder Blog. Because really there are too many people in this family with big, great thoughts and we would love to hear them. So Blog away!
